School
Council
The school council comprises of 17 members from classes across KS1 and KS2.
We meet regular to discuss issues that concern us as a school community and have chosen this year to focus on mental health. As a council we recognise the impact Covid has had on children's mental wellbeing over the last two years and support the school's initiative in raising aspirations of all children. We are engaging in projects that support improving health and wellbeing in all children and are very visible to our peers and are readily available to listen to their concerns. We are implementing worry post boxes around school to allow children anonymity and security when sharing their worries and as a council we will be the advocates for our peers.
In addition, we will be visiting the Houses of Parliament on the 11.01.23 to engage in an tour of the building including a talk about the History of Parliament. We hope to meet our local MP and possibly the prime minister if we are fortunate.
