Edgar Stammers Community Hub was opened in September 2018 and is a focal point for parents and carers to come and seek support, advice and guidance. Since opening several parents have attended workshops ranging from different crafts to weight management programmes. MP Eddie Hughes visited the school on 16th November and was extremely impressed with the facility, he stated ‘what a fantastic opportunity for your parents to really engage with the school’. The school council took the opportunity to show the MP around the Hub and challenged him to a question time, asking Mr Hughes what part he had to play in regenerating the community.
The school has a clear vision; one that is open, transparent and puts the parents at the heart of its school. We want much more from our parents than just engaging them, we want them to be fully involved in their child’s learning and the Hub is a fantastic way to reach our parents showing them that ‘together we are stronger’.
Future activities in the Hub will include:
Autism Support Groups
Health Care Clinics
